charming "Villa The Watchtower" in the garden
Dear Elf Friends are gone for four months, but now I'm back to writing, you ask where I was over? Here's the answer: I have studied and passed the exam to become a "Food & Beverage Manager at the Vocational Training Centre of the Municipality of Florence and spent more than two months working in a dream hotel" Villa The Watchtower. " An ancient Florentine home of the nineteenth century, overlooking the hills overlooking Florence, was transformed into a five star hotel, with 18 exclusive rooms and restaurant "Onyx", winner of a prestigious Michelin star.
The villa is set in a lush garden next to the Piazzale Michelangelo with a breathtaking view over the city, but the beauty of the place is only the frame, the picture is the environment with the many characters that animate it.
This article is dedicated to them, colleagues and friends with whom I shared a delightful time, I felt warmly welcomed in a big family, co-ordinated with enthusiasm and determination by the director Samuel Porreca. The debut was with the breakfast service and met Raffaella, always happy, joy radiates from every pore and you know the joy is contagious. Raffa is the queen of the cafeteria, his cappuccino is from "Oscar"! Moreover, the Neapolitan origins give it an extra touch that instils in that cafe, decorated with a foam perfect compact ... Customers love it for its way of making nice, but not intrusive and feel pampered in the morning. Begin with breakfast in the room "Aurora" is like saying "good morning" in Florence. The buffet is great and the equipment is in summer on the terrace, the birds flying around the trees and pecking on the lawn to English, in the background the dome of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's bell tower .... a paradise full of smiles and kindness. The warmth of in reception, dressed up with great professionalism, through the smiling faces of Carolina, Marie, Serena and almond eyes of Miyako, which adds some calmness East. Do not forget their male colleagues, I greet the dear children of the reception, the porters and cooks very kind of the cafeteria, the head waiter that attended a special hug to the boys with whom I worked in the room, Vasile, Nicholas and Andrew. Thanks to Isella who is a teacher of perfection in table service, the fantastic leaders and Anna Maria, a fond memory for all the maids and magical Stefano maintainer.
You all know very well that my heart beats for the kitchen staff of the restaurant, which overlooks the veranda the beautiful garden and pool. I was admitted with Aurelie, Strasbourg French sweet intern, to work for a short period in a hotbed of high-level designs, to suit the most discerning palates. It is not easy to manage a kitchen star in an environment of reduced size, but the chef Andrea Accordi knows how to combine the ability to manage human resources to the creative. In the menu tastes of Western cuisine are enhanced by the skillful use of spices and Asian influences resulting from years of experience abroad, particularly in the restaurant at the Royal Meridien Phuket Regatta. The kitchen staff is very well-matched with the likeable Luke, Mark and Stephen, assisted by interns. A special mention to the excellent
Massimiliano Blasone, an acrobat, pastry, her cakes are a feast for the eyes and the palate. Decorating is an art that reaches the absolute top pastry chef in ability and was fascinated, so you would not want to destroy the wonderful buildings, but then takes over the gorge and is a triumph of taste ... Dear Max, thanks for your pastry classes, see you, Andrew and great guys to work in the kitchen was an incredible experience!
I hope I never have missed anyone, you know that I miss everyone and I'd love to work with you!
forgot ... a very special thanks to prof. Ivano Bencini who sponsored my application to the stage in the enchanting "Villa The Watchtower."
